It's unbelievable how bad the knee looked after unwrapping the bandages for the first time. Dr Yam said that he performed 7 unique procedures during the operation. Each one would have required surgery by itself at some point. All this from old injuries. It still amazes me that I've run 4 Ironman triathlons in the past two years without being hindered by any knee pain during training. Broken ribs, hernias, and foot surgeries, yes, but no knee pain.
Dr Yam really reinforced how important proper running form is in avoiding wear and tear on your knees. I told him that he was preaching to the choir.
So thankful that everything continues to go well...except for the pain!!! I'll be starting PT tomorrow, I'll be sure to double up on the pain meds before I go. Can't wait ;)
All things according to His purposes!
