Just over two weeks ago I was in an ambulance taped to a back board with a neck brace on overhearing paramedics tell the ER they were escorting a patient with probable broken neck and/or back after I was involved in a bike wreck while training. Yesterday I competed in a race! While I didn't set a PR or make the podium, I did take second on the bike and cross the finish line 10th out of 31 in my age group.
Needles to say Providence disagreed with the prognosis and His grace and His mercy were upon me. After x-rays and a CT scan I was released with nothing more than lots of soreness, road rash, and bruises. I was welcomed home to messages of support and prayers from many of my fellow T4H members, some of whom I have never even met. That support was special, but the prayers invaluable and I have every faith they were heard.
Now Tri4Him has a new meaning for me. In addition to holding my children, going to work, and lifting my hands in worship, God's protection has allowed me to continue competing in triathlon. Now I race simply because He has allowed me to and I am compelled to testify as to His Goodness. Despite the pain and expense, I delight in this experience because He has and will be glorified through it!
