It was a tough swim this weekend, I heard this from just about every athlete out there, but it was a good practice and a reality check on how tough ocean swims can be. All of the Tri4Him athletes ran great races....it was so exciting to see that many of our team members out there!

You aren't the only one who doesn't love that swimming. A little choppiness in the lake I can handle, but that was TOUGH!

Did the 1500m swim for a relay group and was very excited. We got to go out in a boat, jump in and swim to shore. The relay group went with the invitational group and I was one of the 6 women on the boat. When the gun went off I started to swim and had a small anxiety attack when I looked up and saw no one around me...the fast men were gone. Not a great feeling to be out in the bay by yourself. Very, very short on lifeguards. I hear that was the case on Sat. also. Anxiety went up....started to panic. Noodles on every bouy (which were small) were my friend. it was an experience dealing with panicing in the water. My biker and runner were AWESOME...too bad I put the race strap on in the morning without putting the chip on it....we didn't realize it until Rachel crossed the finish line. Not sure I care for ocean swimming....but loved doing a relay and loved having everyone from the team there!
