As this was to be my first Olympic distance race, I too was disappointed about the swim. But I treated it like one big training brick! It was lots of fun, except for my flat tire, but that too was good practice! Am still looking forward to doing an Olympic distance...

Despite being bummed that the swim was cancelled (really the right decision), I enjoyed this race. My bike was as good as I hoped it would be and the run was ok. My pace was about what I could realistically expect even though my quads were starting to cramp on the second lap and I had to walk some. It makes me wonder if I was really ready for an Oly. At least I have some time before my next race to whip myself into better shape. The Sunday volunteering was great with seeing the pros flash past us. I would have liked to stay longer, but it was my weekend with my children and I wanted to get them to church.
