Mission

In keeping with the TriLife (Triathlon-Life) metaphor, our mission includes two perspectives—spiritual and physical.

Life (Spiritual)
To prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. (Ephesians 4:12-13)

Tri (Physical)
To educate, equip, and train a community of Christ-following triathletes for competition, so that the community may be enriched to the point that its members are united in their mutual support and purpose and in their understanding of triathlon and become transformed triathletes, realizing the utmost from their athletic potential…to smoke each and every race!

If you’re a triathlete who wants to honor and glorify Jesus Christ as you train and compete in triathlons (and in life), we welcome you to join us. Tri4Him’s TLETS and community were created to support you as you run your race. Tri4Him provides the training system and the community infrastructure. Members bring the organization to life with their arms, legs, and especially their hearts. How can you bring honor and glory to Jesus through your participation in triathlons? We believe that there are three primary ways and are committed to facilitating them.

1) Tri hard
“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air.”
1 Corinthians 9:24-26 (NIV)
In whatever you do, do it the glory of God by giving it your all. Realize as much of your full potential as possible (relative to your commitment to triathlon—time and money available). Glorify God with your effort, your attitude, your discipline, your growth, and so on. God is honored when we give our best and trust Him for the results. Leave it all out there in both training and on race day and don’t hold anything back. Praise Him despite the outcome.

2) Keep your focus
“For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.”
1 Timothy 4:8
“…let us run with endurance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”
Hebrews 12:1b-3
As you are transformed physically as a triathlete, continue to keep an eternal perspective. Fix your eyes on Jesus, and keep your relationship with Him as your highest priority.

3) Love others
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
John 13:34-35
We can love others through triathlons in many ways. This is the primary function of the Tri4Him community. Invest in others with prayer, encouragement, mentoring, friendship, and support.
